Toronto, Canada – On Friday, June 9, 2017, Kinectrics' management and staff welcomed clients to the grand opening of a new dedicated on-site radiation facility built to support the company’s fast-growing nuclear inspection tooling division.
The new facility, to be managed by the Kinectrics Inspection and Maintenance department, will streamline Kinectrics’ operations in the design, development, and manufacture of leading-edge nuclear inspection systems such as the unique CWEST* (Circumferential Wet Scrape) tool. Work on the facility included an infrastructure upgrade, dedicated tooling decontamination rooms, the addition of new specialized equipment, and installation of a warm cell for radioactive sample analysis.
Kinectrics’ facilities for nuclear also comprise full-service, licensed chemistry, nuclear waste and decontamination labs, a proactive machining and prototyping shop, and many other areas designed to provide services to the nuclear industry.
*CWEST not available for sale outside of Canada until after November 30, 2027.
