Europe – Kinectrics is excited to announce the launch of new HVDC equipment that can test some of the largest DC systems, up to 1200kV.
With this mobile, site acceptance testing equipment, clients will have the confidence that the HVDC cable system and components provided by construction contractors are free from latent defects, which can hinder future performance of these assets. This will allow for significant improvement in future operation and maintenance of the HVDC interconnectors between countries, allowing for continued development in renewables.
Our equipment allows for early detection of failures during commissioning, leading to the reduction of potential delays to projects involving constructors and operators of HVDC asset’s. The major advantage being avoidance of unplanned outages and the high costs associated with them. A challenge those in the industry are eager to eliminate.
“We strive to satisfy the growing, complex needs of our clients. With the addition of this HVDC commissioning equipment, our team can perform a variety of tests to help support informed decision making regarding your assets.” said David Harris, President and CEO of Kinectrics. “This exciting, new service, backed by our world-renowned industry experts, will support expansion of the grid by helping our global clients develop resilient and reliable power networks through high voltage DC cables system testing”.
This new service, unique to Europe, expands on our robust high voltage testing suite. With a state-of-the-art high voltage lab, coupled with onshore and offshore HVAC cable commissioning and forensics, Kinectrics continues to be a category leader in the high voltage space, offering turn-key smart services for the transmission and distribution market.
