Toronto, Canada – Kinectrics, a global leader in testing, inspection, and engineering services, is proud to announce that it has achieved an ISO 17025 scope extension to cover IEEE 1547.1 testing for Distributed Energy Resources (DER) in its GridSim Power Lab.

This significant milestone makes Kinectrics the only laboratory in the world with this prestigious certification to help support safe, renewable power integration with the grid.

The ISO 17025 accreditation is the international standard for testing and calibration laboratories, ensuring that facilities meet the highest levels of technical competence and quality management. By extending its scope to include IEEE 1547.1, Kinectrics can now offer comprehensive testing services for DER interconnections, specifically those manufacturers working to achieve UL1741 SA and SB certification. This enables Kinectrics to provide full-system evaluations at megawatt level power levels, ensuring that DER systems are robust, reliable, and fully prepared to meet the challenges of modern grid integration.

Our ISO 17025 scope extension to include IEEE 1547.1 testing is a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation in the energy sector. As the first laboratory in the world to have achieved this capability, we are uniquely positioned to support our clients in the fast-evolving landscape of DERs and battery storage. We can now more easily collaborate with accreditation bodies such as UL, TUV-Rheinland, Intertek, CSA and others to ensure their systems meet the highest standards of safety and performance.
