Kinectrics’ animal control solution, PowerKage™ is a non-electric fence, which can also be used in combination with other barrier systems. This fencing solution utilizes a specialized design that incorporates high-strength materials and features anti-climbing construction to mitigate the risks associated with unauthorized access. Practical Access
Quick and easy access for vehicles and personnel, with six-foot panel sections and heavy-duty double hinges. Personnel gates provide a four-foot opening, while vehicle gates offer 12-16 feet of access, with the option to fold nearly 180 degrees. These gates feature bolt-action locks, and their outward-opening design ensures winter access without shoveling.

Durable Construction
PowerKage™ fences are built with sturdy posts and support bars, featuring a steel wire mesh lower section and a powder-coated, 22-gauge galvanized upper section custom-formed to fit the fence's curve. Each fence section is securely bolted to the next, ensuring metal-to-metal contact for strength and durability, providing decades of reliable service.
Technical Abilities
Modular Components
PowerKage™ is easy to install, disassemble or reconfigure. The modular design of the fence system allows operators to easily remove or take down sections to allow access to work locations as required. The basic fence components consist of 6, 4, 3-foot and 26” units, and inside/outside adjustable angled corner units.
Flexible Design
Fence installation layouts can be configured to contain specific problem areas (i.e., using one or more, smaller fence enclosures within the utility premises). Layouts can be modified or expanded to accommodate equipment changes or substation expansion as required.
Designed to minimize interference with the operation of substation equipment, the PowerKage™ system can be laid out to accommodate any constraints required by utilities for safety and operations. For example, the fence can be set close to operating fuses and switches to provide access from outside the fence, or far enough away to avoid interference with an operator’s switch pole.
Minimal Maintenance
Fence construction materials are based on engineering principals that maintain safety and durability. The system does not require servicing by an electrician and there are no electrical components or controllers, which could be subject to damage by lightning or other environmental conditions.
The only installation and maintenance tools required after unloading are a level, rake, shovel, and wrench set.
