Ontario, Canada – David Harris, CEO Kinectrics Inc., has announced the purchase of a 37,000 sq. ft. building in Tiverton, and a Teeswater greenfield site to be developed as a new facility in Bruce County, Ontario.

In establishing a base and local presence for Kinectrics, these acquisitions are a first step in a multi-year strategy to expand the company’s local technical support capabilities as Bruce Power embarks on the next 45 years of operation.

“This is an exciting move for Kinectrics as we continue to grow our role as a primary supplier to Bruce Power and the nuclear industry”, said Harris.

In addition, Kinectrics’ vision for Bruce County will include the creation of approximately 50 jobs in the area.

Kevin Kelly, CFO and EVP Financial and Commercial Services, Bruce Power stated, “This is the most significant investment we have seen in our regional economy by suppliers since the launch of our local Economic Development and Innovation Initiative last September.” “The economic benefits that will occur as a result of this investment will be significant.”

The Tiverton building will be licensed to handle radioactive material and host labs and offices with operations scheduled to commence in mid-2018. Plans for the greenfield location are currently in development.
